Attendance Policy

Hello everyone, Here is a short summary of the situation regarding the attendance policy:

The company has made adjustments to its policy as of January 1, 2017. These adjustments are in fact slightly less severe when compared to the policy of September 2014.

The company is entitled to introduce or modify its policies (managerial right). The union preserves its right of contestation as usual. The document you are asked to sign only states that you are aware of the changes and not that you consent (same for a shift briefing or a disciplinary notice).

There is not many clauses on dealing with attendance in the collective agreement, because it has never been a problem in the past. Having taken excessive proportions in the last year, assiduity is likely to be a hot topic in the next negotiation of our collective agreement (April 2018).

This time the company decided to make these changes on January 1st, unlike the last time in which the changes were applied in September. This is much more sensible then in the past since all agents have access to the entirety of their sick days and family day that in their banks.

No one will be asked to justify their absences when they are inside your banks, unless the company claims to have a reasonable doubt on the legitimacy of you’re absence.

Regarding agents attendance records, the first of a series of meetings with the company will take place on January 27, 2017. This situation encompasses more than 300 individual grievances and affects around 150 agents, we hope to have positive news for all members in the next few months!! Thank you
